And none of your network interfaces are up;  in a curtin install, it would have 
written out
the maas network config into the target system.

If a network-config was sent to the machine, then you'll have an /etc
/cloud-init/50-curtin-networking.cfg  in the target OS, can you confirm
the contents of this ?
