Public bug reported: iwlwifi crashes and locks up my computer whenever I visit a website with a lot of images, try to install a large package with apt, or just about anything that requires a moderate amount of bandwidth. This happens somewhat randomly; some days I run into it constantly, and some days I can go maybe half an hour without it crashing.
I'm seeing some similarities with the bug below, although I'm not 100% sure it's the same issue. Is there any chance of backporting that fix from 5.5? https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=204873 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: linux-image-5.3.0-40-generic 5.3.0-40.32~18.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.3.0-40.32~18.04.1-generic 5.3.18 Uname: Linux 5.3.0-40-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.11 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Sun Mar 15 21:28:59 2020 InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-05-04 (316 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20190210) SourcePackage: linux-signed-hwe UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: linux-signed-hwe (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug bionic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1867554 Title: iwlwifi crashes during moderate traffic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-signed-hwe/+bug/1867554/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
