Public bug reported:

hello everyone I realized that by downloading the python application, for my
part version 3.8.2 on the official website and after installing it on the
command line, that the .py files are not recognized natively by the python
application, the python application icon does not appear I am forced by bizarre
manipulation to make my file executable, it is really a hassle for programming,
I am obliged to make a copy of my original file which I managed to get
recognized (under ubuntu) time although badly and to modify it, if someone
could fix this bug would be fine

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
