>From VTE Bug: The standard Ubuntu freeze doesn't apply to GNOME packages. Usually Ubuntu aims to ship latest GNOME x.1. VTE is part of GNOME, VTE 0.60.0 is part of GNOME 3.36.0, VTE 0.60.1 belongs to GNOME 3.36.1 etc. Accordingly, 0.60.0 -> 0.60.1 contains important bugfixes only, no new features. In this particular case, 0.60.1 will bring a trivial shell script fix (quite important for non-VTE users), and hopefully this one. It would be outright ridiculous for an LTS distro to ship an unstable VTE. So, the only reasonable thing for Ubuntu 20.04 is to ship VTE 0.60.1. Anyway, this is not the right place to discuss it.
