Public bug reported: When clicking on "xchat" in gnome-shell in focal xchat does open with an empty window and does not connect to my configured chat networks. The reason appears to be the changes in:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xchat/2.8.8-18 i.e. the desktop file now reads: "xchat --existing --url %U"".
