Installed bluez 5.50 -> same result.

Installed linux 5.3 -> same result.

Tried a combination of all the linux/bluez possibilites -> same result.

Until now, I was only looking at the output of btmon (so basically, low
level BT commands).

Then, while I was doing one of the tests above, I tailed
/var/log/syslog, and I saw this weird thing whenever I tried pairing a
BT device (just when it turned from "connected" to immediately
"disconnected" in g-c-c):

bluetoothd[965]: a2dp-sink profile connect failed for 88:C6:26:1A:9E:AF:
Protocol not available
bluetoothd[965]: a2dp-source profile connect failed for 88:C6:26:1A:9E:AF:
Protocol not available

Turns out [1] this is because I was lacking the pulseaudio-module-
bluetooth package! After installing it and restarting the device, I can
pair and connect my usual BT devices...

I don't know why it used to work earlier (while I was already on 20.04)
and why it broke one day. I kept upgrading regularly using `sudo apt
update` and `sudo apt dist-upgrade`...

Anyway, it seems the issue was a non-issue... and I wasted a lot of time
investigating it!
