Public bug reported: There is a potential regression in the rocksdb max_background_compactions change in the 12.2.13 point release that is in bionic-proposed.
https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/44937 was raised as the rocksdb version in the bionic ceph source does not contain: https://github.com/facebook/rocksdb/pull/3926 which ensures that any overlap between background compactions is detected and handled. We either need to revert to a single background compaction as the default setting, or pick the fix into the rocksdb source in src:ceph/bionic ** Affects: ceph Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: ceph (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: ceph (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: ceph (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: ceph (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Bug watch added: tracker.ceph.com/issues #44937 http://tracker.ceph.com/issues/44937 ** Also affects: ceph via http://tracker.ceph.com/issues/44937 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871820 Title: luminous: bluestore rocksdb max_background_compactions regression in 12.2.13 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ceph/+bug/1871820/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
