Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command only once, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect 1872417 I realize the black screen makes it hard, but are you able to switch to a text terminal and login? If so please run the command from there. If you cannot do that, my advice is to boot your install media, and you could run it from there - but PLEASE note that you did it in comment as the details will differ somewhat on a 'live' system (ie. install media) instead of your installed system (it'll provide your hardware information at least, so if performed on 'live' media please use the same hardware). When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu- bug' and the name of the package affected.
