With "Meta" key, do you possibly mean the <AltGr> / <Right Alt> key?
I see in bug #1872319 that you use the "English (Colemak)" layout (where
<Righ Alt> is used by default to access 3:rd and 4:th level symbols),
but the underlying layout used by ibus-unikey is "English (US)" (which
does not make use of <Right Alt>).
