** Description changed: My webcam Z-Star 305b was supposed to work out of the box [1], but it doesn't work in bionic. It only shows a black screen. I've read lots of threads and tried some suggestions, but unsuccessfully. I've tried LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libv4l/v4l1compat.so cheese which made change cheese change it's error message and vlc to not work at all.
