Public bug reported: Python 2 is obsolete.
You have to use Mercurial from Debian experimental with Python 3 support (https://packages.debian.org/experimental/mercurial) . Having python2 version of Mercurial is useless, as it will not work with for example TortoiseHG which is now python3-based.
