Hi, thanks for the instructions on how to run your case. I ran that in a non-cloud env as a cross check.
Once on bare metal and once in a 1st level KVM (all 20.04). bare metal was faster (as you'd expect) but none of them rebooted more often than the other. The message you are reporting "kvm [177692]: vcpu0, guest rIP: ..." is a red-herring. It occurs all the time on both and also on other guest starts. Both cases run into a setup loop like this (when I re-run it) - maybe I need to refresh the image before any re-run: error: cannot perform the following tasks: - Setup system for run mode (cannot create partitions: exit status 1) A reboot or crash was not seen on any of them (neither on BM nor nested). Guest reboots without other messages in the host, the next best thing to track would be guest-dmesg. But that is hard in that particular case or can you easily make the snap-image gather that somewhere? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1872803 Title: VM reboots using qemu and kvm with ovmf To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kvm/+bug/1872803/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
