Public bug reported:
I noticed a series of random crashes when using Xsane. One of the few
that I was been able to reproduce, seems to be caused by using 16 bit
depth instead of 8, as configured in the "basic options" menu.
The crash is produced at the moment of acquiring an image preview. The
moment the scanner starts moving, xsane closes. Launching xsane from a
terminal does not provide any useful information during the crash.
I am using Ubuntu 20.04LTS, with a clean install. However, that bug was
already present in 18.04LTS
