Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better.
i386 is not a supported architecture for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, except for certain compatibility (see https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community- process-for-32-bit-compatibility/12598) Refer https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update- manager/+bug/1845690 which prevents i386 systems from running 20.04 LTS, so why would the availability of `aptitude` help users who cannot use it, and the amd64 version is native for their machines (or if running ppc64el/s390x/other it's of not benefit anyway). I'm going to mark this as incomplete, as to me it makes no sense given i386/i686 is not a supported architecture beyond Ubuntu 19.04. ** Changed in: aptitude (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1875165 Title: Missing package aptitude for i386 in focal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/aptitude/+bug/1875165/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
