I have this issue as well on a Thinkpad T480 with kernel 5.4.0. dmesg says: [ 797.604357] psmouse serio2: TrackPoint at rmi4-00.fn03/serio0/input0 lost synchronization, throwing 1 bytes away. [ 967.658977] psmouse serio2: TrackPoint at rmi4-00.fn03/serio0/input0 lost synchronization, throwing 1 bytes away. [ 1131.429133] psmouse serio2: TrackPoint at rmi4-00.fn03/serio0/input0 lost synchronization, throwing 1 bytes away.
