Hmm, doing the reset caused the computer to freeze, I had to switch to a tty and reboot. Ran the reset again in the background with just a terminal open and it succeeded. The problem has gone away. I've saved the config before and after (attached) but the suspicious item is org.gnome.nautilus.preferences use-experimental-views true
