Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.
Evince taking a lot of memory is a known issue in gutsy, see bug 138343.
Regarding the cpu usage:
- Is the cpu usage high continuously or only during opening of the document?
- How much RAM does your system have?
- Do you see a lot of harddisk activity (swapping) when you open the document?
Can you also please provide a link to a pdf file causing these problems?
