I have an intel pro wireless 3945 card and I have managed to find a setup that works, most of the time. You will need to manually download the client cert file and do some homework on your wireless network's authentication protocals beforehand. 1 In network manager, select connect to other network, put in the network name and for security select wpa enterprise. 2 Set up your eap type, mine is peap, and select dynamic wep for key type. 3 Select your phase2 type if necessary, mine was mschap-v2. 4 Enter your login credentials under identity and password. You might have to fill out other fields depending on your university's setup. 5 Set your ca cert to the client certificate you previously downloaded. 6 Hit connect and pray.
At my university (Saint Louis University) it connects most of the time, ballpark 60%. If the applet fails to connect it will prompt you for a wep key. Generally I have found that attempts to reconnect wont work. Hope you find this useful. -- 8021x Unreliable Connection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/156035 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
