Brian: You're welcome. I tried it now and as before it powered down nicely. On reboot it did the bios thing and then there was a one line error across the top of the screen. I didn't catch all of it but it had: ... error creating sysfs ... I'm not sure it was 'sysfs', but it was something like that.
Then the splash screen (Ubuntu with the orange/yellow/red icon on the left) came up. Before getting to a login prompt, a white bar appeared, and as before the Ubuntu splash screen got split. Holding the power button down for a few seconds, I was able to power off. power up. it gets to 'starting up' and gave the error again. it is 'sysfs'. It booted to the prompt ok. I seem to have the latest upgrade of everything (no icon for it and no prompt appears). I don't know if the 'hybernation' saved any screens - I didn't have anything open on this round. -- hybernation crash on restart https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119974 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
