Ah, but the denied message is a send, not a receive, so that's not it
(tested locally with a hacked snapd).

I took a look at the generated profile and it expanded to this:

 692 dbus (send)
 693     bus=system
 694     path=/
 695     interface=org.freedesktop.DBus.Peer
 696     member=Ping
 697     
peer=(name=org.freedesktop.Avahi,label="{unconfined,/usr/sbin/avahi-daemon}"),

but in the logging I'm seeing peer_label="avahi-daemon".
