Busy with work-arounds, I had missed the Alpha-1 release but
have now downloaded it and it's a little happier loading on my
problem PC, with its shorter, faster PATA133 cable, and
burning to DVD disc helps, but other LiveCDs are still refusing
to load into RAM.
Assembling a set of test discs, I am re-configuring several PCs
to act as test PCs for future Hardy Heron Alpha releases.

I just wanted to give you an update. The Hardy Heron kernel was
recently uploaded for testing. Unfortunately, the Hardy Heron Alpha1
LiveCD was released with the older 2.6.22 kernel so it doesn't really
help you. You'll have to manually install the newer Hardy Heron kernel
in order to test the kernel. This should not be the case for Alpha2
LiveCD. Let me know if you want to manually install the kernel and I'll
send you instructions on how to install but it seems like you're wanting
to test from the LiveCD. Thanks.
