Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: mediawiki1.10
I've recently gone throught the upgrade procedure for Mediawiki using
the guide in /usr/share/doc/mediawiki1.10/README.Debian.gz and it looks
like the file needs a few tweak for Ubuntu & could be expanded a little.
Surrgestions for changes
After step 2:
2.5) If AdminSettings.php didn't exist, you'll need to create one:
cp /usr/share/doc/mediawiki1.10/examples/AdminSettings.sample
/etc/mediawiki1.10/AdminSettings.php
Update AdminSettings.php with database details etc
Step 8 doesn't need to be done. The moving and symlinking appears to be
done by the package already and using the chmod and chown steps will
break mediawiki in ubuntu.
It might also be worth mention extenension. In my case all I had to do to deal
with the fact I have installed extension in 1.7 was run
cp -R /var/lib/mediawiki1.7/extensions/* /var/lib/mediawiki1.10/extensions
** Affects: mediawiki1.10 (Ubuntu)
