1. use this "cat /var/log/dmesg > dmesg" it should help provide you complete log. 2. i do not think some one in ubuntu kernel team can fix it, so the best way to make it work is upstream. This linux-image-xxx.deb made from source you can find on www.kernel.org, bugs in kernel will be fixed on bugzilla.kernel.org .
