Pureblood, I do not think this is hardware problem, because most of this
topic writers have different videocards. This is my one, for example:

Moreover, if this is not Ubuntu specific problem, then why it appears
after upgrade to Gutsy (in most cases), and cannot be reproduced with
other distro (at least in my case)? I have tried to boot with an old
kernel, but Xorg freezes with that too, that's why I suppose that it's a
bug of current Xorg build...
