Public bug reported: Starting simple-scan 3.28.0-0ubuntu1 (Ubuntu 18.04.4), with a Brother MFC L3770 CDW and Brother br* packages installed and configured.
- If the Photo mode is selected by default, a scan will be in color (no problem). - From step1, switching to text mode, the scan is monochrome (again no problem). - From step2, switching to Photo mode, all subsequent scans will be monochrome (ARGH ;-)). Looking at simple-scan git history, I found an interesting commit (I did not go with a full git bisect). https://github.com/GNOME/simple-scan/commit/12e9c02a6cccf6b17aada9a26987007eb6d1360d I reproduced the problem on the sha1 preceeding this one.
