I`m the originator of this problem - The laptop seemed to hang/lockup at certain points in the booting of the live CD - the loading progress bar would stop moving. Unfortunately, I only discovered this after doing an online update from 7.04 to 7.10 - which obviously installed the new kernel (2.6.14?) I had to boot with the previous version of the kernel (ended with 16 cant remember the rest of the version number, sorry) and then I could boot into Ubuntu. My nvidia (6100go) would not work then though - I was stuck with 800x480 res.
7.04 worked perfectly on the same laptop - the nvidia card/wireless card/soundcard all worked fine with no fettling. 7.10 just didnt want to play ball, so I've had to re-install feisty. -- Gutsy LiveCD failure on specific laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174114 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
