Glad it's been nominated for Dapper..but not sure if it will get
priority it deserves. As it has security implications...can it be
patched into a security update? Or am I being too greedy?

At the moment, for basic admin tasks, I am having to use WinZip to copy
folders since the compress and extract phases of WinZip preserves folder
attributes. This is of course a crazy solution, but it's all I have for
now.

Perhaps somebody can point me to a fool's guide for creating my own
temporary Dapper samba package containing this patch. I know it's not
something you would encourage but I am pretty desparate :(
