I would like to comment (I originally assisted in confirming this issue)
it seems only to be confirmed in an upgrade from feisty to gutsy.   Due
to other reasons, I had to re-install gutsy on my laptop and did not
have any problem suspending to RAM as I originally did.

I still have troubles hibernating sometimes, and find that only 1
suspend seems to work, if you have to do a second, things start to hang.
I believe that can be related to other issues.
