Modal dialogs are meant to move the parent window. If you want to turn
that feature off then install 'gnome-tweaks' and set:
Tweaks > Windows > Attach Modal Dialogs = OFF
If you have any other issues then please report them in separate bugs by
running:
ubuntu-bug gnome-shell
