I confirm that now MediaDice with emoji is displayed. I have tested 2.1.7+ds-2~ubuntu20.04.1 version in a virtual machine in Ubuntu 20.04 with GNOME and in KUbuntu 20.04 (both loaded from Live .iso image). I have also tested that upgrading from 2.0.1+ds-1build1 version is possible seamlessly.
