For the first question - I will check it. For the second question - The answer is yes. When the screen saver is set to blank screen, the system also freezes.
Currently, I am doing a test to check for display driver defect. The previous driver was the intel experimental driver (comes with Gutsy). Now I am checking it with vesa driver. My test is very simple: I switched to vesa driver and I will let the computer run solo (no human interference) for 3 days (the entire weekend). If it won`t freezes, then I will have to start searching for a more stable driver. If it freezes ...
