I fixed the problem for my laptop. it looks like its a configuration issue in /etc/pulse/default.pa file. I simply made a diff with a previous ubuntu version aka 19.10 and adjust the config (I copied the config file ) and restart pulseaudio with "systemctl --user restart pulseaudio". and my hsp/hfp profile now works and I can use the microphone as well.
