Hi there, My problem is same as yours.
I have an Ideapad 81YH with intel i7 chipset. I installed ubuntu 20.04 with kernel 5.4 and touchpad doesn't seem to work as well. 2-3 days ago I modified the grub in /etc/default, it made my touchpad working for a few boots. Unfortunately, it's gone.. IDK what to do to fix this.
