Public bug reported:
The .desktop file that kate writes to ~/.local/share/applications
produces errors when run through desktop-file-validate. The other side
effect of this is that kate doesn't show up in the applications menu
search but the desktop file does. Clicking on the desktop file just
opens a text editor with desktop file as a source.
