Same problem on Sony VGN-CR41ZR/Ubuntu 18.04 (4.15.0-106-generic) with
builtin intel wifi card and additional wifi usb card (maybe this
important)

Machine was not suspended, just after some time rest in working (day or
couple) with no touching any settings of wifi connection it just hang
and flood syslog/kern logs until "no space left on device" and hang.

Seems helping (currently in testing) disable intel wifi off and use only
external usb wifi card.

Can provide some additional info if needed.
