Public bug reported:
Distro: Ubuntu 20.04
Gnome: 3.36.2
gnome-software 3.36.0-0ubuntu3
gnome-software-common 3.36.0-0ubuntu3
gnome-software-plugin-snap 3.36.0-0ubuntu3
When I select an application (e.g. Inkscape) I expect to see both snap
packages and deb packages.
Gnome-software for Inkscape only offered 3 versions of snap packages:-
latest/stable 1.0-6e3e5246a0-2020-05-07
latest/candidate 1.0-5426eaae79-2020-06-20
latest/edge 1.1-dev-2e60fb975d-2020-06-03
The deb package for Inkscape 0.92.5-1ubuntu1.1 was not offered.
I do not know if this is only Inkscape or whether this behaviour
affects other applications.
I would think that it would be better for gnome-software to suggest
stable packages (whether snap or deb) before listing candidate and edge
snaps.
Temporarily, I have removed gnome-software-plugin-snap so that I can see
all the deb offerings for packages that interest me.
I can re-install the snap plugin when I may need a certain snap package.
** Affects: gnome-software (Ubuntu)
