This now works for me using the latest subiquity version 20.06.1:
https://github.com/CanonicalLtd/subiquity/releases/tag/20.06.1
that got in between already released and can be used by either making sure the
installer is updated to the latest level or by using a current daily
live-server image
(http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-server/focal/daily-live/current/).
Hence updating the project entry to Fix Released.
