To be honest, I'm really not sure. I know pulseaudio reloads itself after being killed, and maybe at that point. I am not a programmer (though, I'm trying to teach myself Python) and there's much I don't understand as well as I'd like to.
My guess was that pulseaudio was the problem. I have since un-installed pulseaudio, and the problem seems to have stopped, thought it was not frequent. (I have also upgraded to Hardy for kicks, but I will be reinstalling Gutsy shortly, as I require open office. Perhaps a fresh install will help either fix the problem or be a cleaner sandbox to test from.) I'll re-iterate that "firefox with flash" was only one of three scenarios where my computer went bonkers. Is there something other than pulseaudio that is in common with firefox/flash, totem, and rhythmbox? -- Various programs filling memory up until freeze (firefox 3.0 beta1, totem, and rhythmbox) possibly pulseaudio https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/172452 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
