I had to wait for this merge to be complete before I could consider
moving forward.
Given that the issues filed on the Salsa page may not be present, I will
contact the Debian maintainer directly and see if they're aware of this
issue. If they can fix it in Debian and make it available, we can just
merge from Debian and get the fix.
