Re comment # 22 I can confirm that the current daily Lubuntu Groovy Desktop file (2020-07-107) works in VirtualBox, when booted from the iso file seen as a virtual optical drive.
Tested on 2 machines in VirtualBox 1. InWin BL641 i5-10400,16GB,Intel UHD Graphics 630,Ethernet,Intel 660p 512GB M.2 NVMe hd 2.
