The only explanation for a freeze I can see in the log of comment #4 is this recurring kernel/hardware problem:
Jul 16 12:06:21 bmariner-Inspiron-7375 kernel: pcieport 0000:00:01.1: AER: Corrected error received: 0000:00:01.0 Jul 16 12:06:21 bmariner-Inspiron-7375 kernel: pcieport 0000:00:01.1: AER: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Data Link Layer, (Transmitter ID) Jul 16 12:06:21 bmariner-Inspiron-7375 kernel: pcieport 0000:00:01.1: AER: device [1022:15d3] error status/mask=00001000/00006000 Jul 16 12:06:21 bmariner-Inspiron-7375 kernel: pcieport 0000:00:01.1: AER: [12] Timeout which is about vendor "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD]" device "Raven/Raven2 PCIe GPP Bridge [6:0]". So I think that's related to the graphics card. If you can then try a different graphics card or even just a different kernel version from: https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=M;O=D ** Package changed: ubuntu => linux (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1887724 Title: [amdgpu] Xorg freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1887724/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
