I'm on 18.04, and saw huge cpu use all of a sudden by 4 tasks called kidle_inject running at 40% CPU each. I'm quite used to having this Thinkpad x230 tablet run hot since graphics e.g. for video don't seem to be accelerated. But in this case, the CPU and temperature as reported by psensor was not elevated before the kidle_inject processes went into overdrive. I'm not used to seeing them running normally.
I followed the advice at kidle_inject causing very high load - Ask Ubuntu https://askubuntu.com/questions/584636/kidle-inject-causing-very-high-load to rmmod intel_powerclamp, and that killed the processes, but the temperature went up a bit, now to 100 degrees C, again despite low CPU load. So something is going wrong here... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1389077 Title: [HP ProBook 4530s / Lenovo G580] Intel Powerclamp is Slowing CPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1389077/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
