** This bug is no longer flagged as a security issue ** Description changed:
typing sudo in the alt-f2 run applications dialog box and then the program name or command freezes the system, and shuts off any sound/music as well if any are playing and where at least/most the keyboard only works to allow a ctrl+alt+backspace if not and one has dontzap in the xorg conf then the only way out is via the powerbutton on the computer. Gksudo seems to be unaffected by this and does NOT cause a freeze up of the system. This occurs if by defualt and left unchecked "run in terminal" is unchecked and one just presses the enter key on the - keyboard. I thought maybe it could allow a local DOS attack or remote if - one is allowed to login and run the run applications dialog box or it - may allow code injection, but all I know is what is stated in the - sentences above about it freezing the system. + keyboard. YES I did a full install of Gutsy and have all updates up to when this bug/freeze was filed. -- (GUTSY) Typing sudo in run applications dialog box freezes system https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174599 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
