Assuming this is the xorg package but could be wrong.

Running a Logitech MX master 3 mouse, the middle mouse copy/paste isn't
working out the box or is only working intermittently on boot. Using
'xinput --list-props 15' I'm seeing that the 'Middle Emulation Enabled
(298)' is set to 0. If I set this to '1' by using 'xinput --set-prop 15
298 1' then turn the mouse off/on then I regain functionality. If I then
switch to another computer attached to my KVM switch and back to this
machine, the input is lost again. Attempting to set the default (299)
  value results in this error:

X Error of failed request: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource
denied)
Major opcode of failed request: 131 (XInputExtension)
Minor opcode of failed request: 57 ()
Serial number of failed request: 20
Current serial number in output stream: 21

I can script this to get around it, it's just messy and unnecessary

Copy of output from xinput --list-props:
