Unfortunately I am no export when it comes to Ubuntu, thus i try to explain what i did try. Perhaps you can point me to additional tests that i could try:
- As Leann suggested, I installed the linux-backports-modules. To be safe i restarted Ubuntu but the problem still exists. - I read about a similar sound problem occuring on Acer laptops that could be fixed by adding "options snd-hda-intel model=fujitsu" to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.
