Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 20.10 switched to use nftables by default and sshguard should be use
nftables by default as well, dropping the Ubuntu delta.
This also fixes LP: #1877615.

The package is built and tested in https://launchpad.net/~ci-train-ppa-
service/+archive/ubuntu/4044/+packages .

I've tested it on a local laptop and it indeed blocks the IPs with
nftables:

$ sudo nft list table ip sshguard
table ip sshguard {
        set attackers {
                type ipv4_addr
                flags interval
                elements = { 10.0.17.1 }
        }

        chain blacklist {
                type filter hook input priority filter - 10; policy accept;
                ip saddr @attackers drop
        }
}
