Is this ever going to be fixed? This is persistent across many versions
of Ubuntu.
Look, basically, if I tell your operating system to not turn the screen
off, and your software does it anyway, and there's no workaround, that
is a CRITICAL ISSUE.
And this is NOT a duplicate. Blank != Black. Starting the OS with a
black screen is a different problem than "external monitor keeps going
blank."
