Public bug reported:
GRUB2 appears by default on every reboot, which is a problem. Neither Windows,
nor any other mainstream OS except for Ubuntu shows a boot menu on every boot.
It is meant to be displayed when there is a problem, furthermore, systems with
UEFI have no need for a bootloader, so I propose to replace grub with
systemd-boot for systems with UEFI by default.
Second, the GRUB2 menu that appears on every boot has a 10 second delay. Why
10s not 5s, 2s? On every boot?
It doesn't make sense to require user input during boot stages of a system, so
this 10 second delay is actually increasing boot time of the system by 10
seconds, that's over twice as long as the whole operating systems boot these
days. Boot experience is degraded severely with the current state of
bootloading on Ubuntu.
