** Description changed: Running through the new QT/KDE installer for the first time, my system is not connected to the internet and the installer throws an error saying so. I connect to the internet (navigating a bunch of painful kwallet messages which should be suppressed... for another bug). What happened: The installer did not update the error message, and I was still unsure about what content I was missing by not being connected to the internet What I expected to happen: There should have been some event or background polling going on to detect the connection and update the message with the correct content. Instead I had to shutdown the installer, and restart - + --- + ProblemType: Bug + .etc.calamares.modules.finished.conf: + --- + restartNowMode: user-checked + restartNowCommand: "systemctl -i reboot" + .etc.calamares.modules.partition.conf: + efiSystemPartition: "/boot/efi" + enableLuksAutomatedPartitioning: true + userSwapChoices: none + drawNestedPartitions: true + defaultFileSystemType: "ext4" + .etc.calamares.modules.shellprocess_logs.conf: + --- + dontChroot: true + timeout: 30 + script: + - calamares-logs-helper @@ROOT@@ + ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu48 + Architecture: amd64 + CasperMD5CheckResult: pass + CasperVersion: 1.452 + CurrentDesktop: KDE + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.10 + LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu-Studio 20.10 "Groovy Gorilla" - Beta amd64 (20200930) + NonfreeKernelModules: zfs zunicode zavl icp zcommon znvpair + Package: calamares 3.2.24-0ubuntu2 + PackageArchitecture: amd64 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.8.0-20.21-lowlatency 5.8.10 + RelatedPackageVersions: + calamares-settings-ubuntu-common 1:20.10.9 + calamares-settings-lubuntu N/A + xfsprogs 5.6.0-1ubuntu4 + btrfs-progs 5.7-1 + Tags: groovy + Uname: Linux 5.8.0-20-lowlatency x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm audio cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo + _MarkForUpload: True ** Attachment added: ".etc.calamares.modules.after_bootloader_context.conf.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1898631/+attachment/5419378/+files/.etc.calamares.modules.after_bootloader_context.conf.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1898631 Title: Installer does not update "system not connected to the internet" message dynamically To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1898631/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
