Why you reported your problem against the VLC media player is a mystery
but since since six months have now elapsed without further comment can
this bug report now be closed?
If you should still have an outstanding issue then I would suggest
creating a new bug report against the Linux kernel by issuing the
following command
ubuntu-bug linux
in a terminal window.
